Fargo, N.D. (August 4, 2010) – Spectrum Aeromed and Cessna Aircraft Company have teamed together to pre-fit Cessna’s Citation Mustang 510 for an air medical interior during aircraft manufacturing. The aircraft will come out of the Cessna factory prewired for Spectrum Aeromed’s air medical equipment, saving aircraft operators a substantial amount of time when compared to retro-fitting an aircraft already in use.

Scott Sarver, manager of special mission sales for Cessna, says “Because of the versatility of the Mustang 510, we recognized the potential for it to become the ideal multi-mission aircraft for operators who want to add medical transport services to their business profile.”

By collaborating on the front end of production, operators are able to purchase an aircraft that is already multi-mission capable without having to wait for wiring modifications or Supplemental Type Certification (STC) acquisition, which can take up to eight months of legwork and engineering time.

Jet Budget, a St. Maartin, Caribbean charter company, will receive the first completed aircraft. The company, which currently provides corporate, leisure and charter flights, plans to begin offering medical transport services in September. “We needed a versatile, multi-mission aircraft and the Mustang is ideal for our geography and weather conditions,” says Eugene Duzant, chief pilot for Jet Budget.

Jet Budget’s Cessna Mustang will feature Spectrum Aeromed’s modular 2200 series advanced life support system with storage provisions customized to the Mustang, a stretcher, IV pole, manual loading system and their patented seat rail adaptor.
